You are in the actual mythical birth place of the king of gods and this is a fact supported by many ancient findings in the cave from ceremonies that were held by the Minoans few thousand years back. The cave is famous also for the breath taking stalactites and stalagmites.

The Kera monastery is a historical place of about 1200 years old and its very famous in Crete . Its contribution towards the fights against the Turks was quite important and this resulted in its destruction few times. In our days its a peaceful woman monastery located among lots of green , between amazing natural surroundings.

First stop - Krasi village

Second stop - Vidiani monastery
Vidiani monastery for about 25'.
Third stop - Zeus cave
Zeus cave for about 1h10min.The mythical birth place of the king of gods Zeus, decorated with impressive stalactites and stalagmites.
Fourth stop - Ceramics workshop
Ceramics workshop for about 45' to see how ceramics and traditional products like olive oil, wine, raki and ceramics are made.
Fifth stop - Kera monastery
The historical Kera monastery for about 30'
Sixth stop - Lunch at a local tavern
There will be a big variety of local dishes made from local products of the Lassithi plateau, homemade wine and meats from the surrounding mountains. (The meal is not included.)
Couldn't book anything else as we only had a day left, so we started with quite a hold back BUT it turned out a very good day. Picked up exactly from hotel, the coach was comfy and cool, the english guide was actually from Bristol too !! Loved it, thanks !

Small mess in the pick up place which was sorted quite soon, other than that a great day trip with lots of sights and helpful guide, Germans were very loud but not of huge importance, recommended !!
